Returning To Japan, Yuru Camping 2

So it’s been a while (again), and I thought I’d update this page. I’m going to return to Japan this summer for about a month, and I’m planning on doing some more anime tourism. The flights I booked in 2021 got cancelled because of the whole covid thing (thank god that’s all over). I’m currently working my way through Yuru Camp season 2 and the Yuru Camp movie and deciding on which places from those I want to go to. If anyone reading this is aware of my situation and what happened last time I was in Japan a few years ago, they’ll know I have some unfinished places to visit from season 1 too. I might stop by those places to finish what I started (how has it been 3 years omg).

I’ll be travelling around with my sister doing mostly the sort of thing I was doing last time. Backpacking, camping sometimes (maybe not much since my sister doesn’t seem keen). We’ve currently got a rough path we’ll work our way around which could change. As it stands we’ll start in Tokyo, maybe pay a quick visit to Chichibu to see the flowers, then head along the coast south until we hit Fujinomiya, then start heading north. Maybe stop by in Minobu to say hi to the lovely people at Kakurinbo Temple Lodging. Past lake Suwa and Matsumoto, then through the mountains towards Nagoya. Kyoto, maybe Osaka, Nara, and then back along the southern coast past Hamamatsu, then back towards Tokyo. We’ve started using this cool travel planner map called Pebblar and dialled most of the route in. Here’s what it looks like:

I absolutely can’t wait. We’ve been coming up with lots of ideas of things we want to see and do. I’m particularly looking forward to seeing the bathing capybaras at Izu Shabuten Zoo.

So yeah, if there are any Yuru Camp fans awaiting a sequel to my adventures a few years ago, you’re in luck! I’ll be there from the 13th of June for a month, and I’ll be writing up everything I do right here on this site 🙂
