This is part 2 of a crazy tour in a taxi that I had with some randoms I met while Hibike Euphonium sightseeing. Go check out part 1 if you haven’t already!
Back to the Uji river
I walked back along the main road from JR Uji station towards the river again. I got to the “I want to improve” bridge again and snapped another shot looking upstream on the west bank.
This is where one of my snaps from years ago got featured in a photography exhibition in Uji a few years ago called “Youkoso Fes”, which even until now I’m super chuffed about. Just like being interviewed by the news crew while visiting the Yuru Camp school, it’s nice to feel like your passion and energy put into an anime materialises into something real.

Here’s the full shot:
Here’s a screen cap from the same spot.

Turning 180 degrees we see a big concrete torii gate.

Just before the gate on the left is a little road which leads to the start of the path to Kumiko’s bench. It’s a lovely park area with lots of green.
Kumiko’s Bench
It’s nestled just behind a pump station which has been redone since what it looks like in the anime. I’ve still got to watch the latest movie, and I’m wondering if they adapt to that change.

The tree’s grown a bit too.

Uji Bridge
I walked back the way I came to the car bridge and snapped a shot of a train passing by, something we see a lot in the anime. I come back here later for some night shots though.
Spinning around we look upstream towards the other bridges.

On the other side of the bridge I get to Keihan Uji station – Kumiko’s home station as mentioned in the previous post.

I followed the road to the left under the train tracks.
Which brought me round the back of the station.
Continuing on, if we take the river bank path it’s a short walk towards Asuka’s bridge.
Asuka’s Bridge
This is where she and Kumiko share some musical moments together.

You can see the area hasn’t been cleaned up in a while and was in need of some TLC.

On the way back towards Uji I spotted a cat lying amongst the grass on the overgrown path.
And as you can probably tell from the last few photos, my point-and-shoot camera was starting to struggle in the lower light levels, as it was getting darker. So from here I switched to my phone.

Omg finally
