Fuji Riverside/Kai-Oshima Station
I headed south to Toshima station instead of Ide, as it was downhill that direction. The two stops are equidistant anyway.

While heading through Toshima village, I snapped this shot at the railroad crossing of a train going the opposite direction.
The views were super nice on the line up towards Minobu, as usual.
Until eventually I made it to my stop.
Kai-Oshima/Fuji Riverside

The girls don’t actually get to this location from the train station, they arrive on foot from the north (as shown on the map).
The station being Kai-Oshima, which is where I hopped off.
I headed right along the main road towards the first photo spot. It was a beautiful day.
The first shot was right next to a T junction that peels off towards the riverside.

That road being just to the left out of the shot above.

I spent a bit of time wandering through between the fields, I knew the general direction of the riverside spot but I wasn’t sure, as I didn’t pinpoint it on google maps exactly.
I ended up having to actually double back on myself, until I found it!

Seems like some new bollards had been installed to stop cars. Perhaps people were driving onto the riverside and camping? Anyway, I followed the girls’ footsteps onto the bank. It was indeed a nice place 🙂

I soaked up the scenery for a bit longer, before heading straight back to the station. I took a couple more shots on the way.
There were a few more snaps to take here, one by the entrance of the teeny station building.

Another on the platform. Seems like the waiting room had either been removed or never existed? You can see a patch of fresh tarmac where it would have been.

Another of a rather well worn marking on the floor. Seems like it’s been worn down even more since the anime.

I walked around and up a side road to grab this shot of nadeshiko on the platform.

And another looking the opposite way.
I had AGES to wait for the next train so I decided to take some press shots for my music accounts and such.
My train finally arrived, and I rode the Minobu line back up north towards Kofu. On the way I passed by Kai-Tokiwa, the school where the girls go to in the anime. Looking back on it, I should have stopped by and had another look, but for whatever reason I decided not to. I nabbed a shot from the train instead. You can check out of coverage of when I went there last here.
And with that, my Yuru Camping in 2024 came to an end.
Tokyo and wrapping things up
I had actually planned to go to one last location, but I decided to skip out on it.

It was totally in the middle of nowhere and the bus prospects to the campsite were really not great, about one or two a day. So if I messed up, there was a chance I would be stranded. Plus, it was probably going to rain hard. I’ll leave that to another person or future me.
I headed back to Tokyo and spent about a week there. I made some new friends, met up with some old ones from Osaka, and had a really great time. Ezeke, Tanay and Matilde, hope to see you again! Here’s a quick photo spam:

Of course I spent lots of time gathering an anime merch haul to take home too. Many rolls for Yuru Camp keychains were spent.

And with that, I headed home. Maybe I’ll return some time after Yuru Camp season 4 airs, which has already been announced!

I snapped this pic upon arrival at Heathrow airport in London.

Until next time ❤
